Butcher/Meat Cutter responsibilities include:
Ability to cut, trim, grind, weigh and label finished meat products according to our business standards for retail and wholesale customers.
Prepare meat for cutting by trimming excess fat and trim for sausage, steaks, chops, and other products either by hand or by machine to obtain proper weight.
Attractively portion, present and package product according to customer requests and in a way to maximize sales.
Stocks counter neatly, accurately and in a timely manner. Promptly inform Lead Butcher when meat quantities or supplies are low.
Maintain proper sanitary conditions to include: cleaning and sanitizing of all work services utensils and equipment.
Operate knives, grinder, saws, scales and additional equipment in a safe and sanitary manner.
Help document and maintain all inspection logs.
5+ year of culinary, butcher, or sausage making experience preferred.
Must be 18 years of age.
Must be able to remain standing and/or walking for a minimum of eight hours per day five days per week.
Must be able to lift objects up to and including 60 pounds.
Must be able to work effectively in refrigerated/cooler environment.
Must be able to walk on non-forgiving surfaces such as concrete wood metal and sometimes on slippery and wet surfaces.
Days and Hours:
Full-time days, Tuesday through Saturday & some Sunday’s during the summer months. Work 40-45 hours per week. Hours are based on business needs.
